Château Tour des Gendres 2016 La Gloire de mon père BIO
Vincenzo de Conti, his wife and children moved to the South West of France in 1925. In 1956, Primo de Conti, his son, took over the family farm with Michelle, his wife who also breeds some horses, and his brother Albert. In the third generation, Luc, guided by his passion for horses, moved to Les Gendres in the early 1980s. Luc recovered a few hectares of old vines and also planted new plots, assisted by his wife Martine, who also looked after the estate's reception. Francis, his cousin with whom he grew up in this big smala, joined the estate in 1990: his 20 hectares of vines in Saint Julien d'Eymet were added to the vineyards of Les Gendres and Grand Caillou and he took charge of the cultivation of the vines. Warm soils - Clay-limestone soils with a dominant limestone content on Castillon marl, poor in water, southern exposure, gentle slope, they are particularly favourable to Cabernet Sauvignon. The colour is a deep red with violet reflections. The nose is very ripe: black fruits, chocolate, liquorice, violets as well as toasted nuances. The palate is generous with a dense and tight tannic structure, accompanied by a beautiful sweetness. This wine is carried by a remarkable freshness for the vintage.
