FAUCHON returns with a second iconic 5-star hotel and member of the Leading Hotel of the World collection, located in the imperial and cultural capital of Japan, Kyoto.
According to Jacques-Olivier Chauvin, President and CEO, "The opening of FAUCHON L'Hotel Kyoto is a significant achievement for FAUCHON on many levels. It marks 50 years of FAUCHON's presence in Japan and brings together in one place all the brand's expertise in hospitality and gastronomy.
The hotel offers 70 exceptional rooms and continues the tradition of its sister hotel in Paris by offering: Gourmet Bar, Grand Café FAUCHON, FAUCHON Tearoom, a FAUCHON boutique on the street level, the FAUCHON Spa and, for the first time, a FAUCHON Bar.
Guests can enjoy many unique experiences at FAUCHON L'Hotel Kyoto, including:
- CUISINE: FAUCHON chefs have worked to incorporate Japanese flavors and culinary elements into FAUCHON's iconic French dishes and pastry, to give a modern twist to French and Japanese cuisine.
- JAPANESE TEA CEREMONY: Incorporating traditional Japanese elements with FAUCHON touches, including a pink teapot and macaroons, as well as a special tea blend, "One Night In Kyoto" (green tea with fruity notes of cherry, pear and tangerine) created especially for the hotel.
- JAPANESE BEER: FAUCHON partnered with Tango Beer of Japan to recreate "La Délicieuse", a special beer that was served in the 1940s.
- JAPANESE PASTRY: FAUCHON has also teamed up with a Japanese bakery partner, Izutsu, to create a special Yatsuhashi pastry, a traditional Japanese sweet that will only be available at the hotel and can be enjoyed at tea time.

- FAUCHON'S DAILY MARCARON: FAUCHON will offer a free daily macaroon, available throughout the hotel for guests to enjoy.
- PLAYLIST: A specially selected playlist will be available throughout the hotel to set the tone for the overall experience.
The new property is a masterful blend of FAUCHON style with magenta, black and gold, with a nod to its location in Japan. For example, there are black painted bamboo accents on the walls, Sakura petals incorporated into many design elements and Washi paper (used for origami) on the wall above the headboards in the guest rooms.
Its exceptional location about 10 minutes from the most interesting areas: Gion (a traditional and lively district), Higashiyama (a charming district leaning against the eastern hills of the city and full of typical stores) and Kawaramachi-Shijo, will delight the guests.
