HEINZ COUPLES UP WITH FAUCHON TO LAUNCH ‘TOMACARON’ THIS VALENTINE’S DAY

The collaboration

This Valentine’s Day, the French legacy brand is coupling up with the world’s most beloved Tomato Ketchup to show some love to French fans alike, combining more than a century’s worth of experience to create the duos first ever ‘Tomacaron’. Combining FAUCHON’s world-renowned macaron recipe with the unmistakable taste of Heinz Tomato Ketchup, sauce superfans can expect to fall in love at first bite with flavours of delicate, sweet red berries; earthy and floral rhubarb and punchy ginger, combined and paired perfectly with the bright, tangy, and iconic Heinz Tomato Ketchup. It’s been a marriage of sorts and the result of rigorous testing and tasting to ensure the right balance of sweet and sour.

Presented in a box of eight macarons – to be shared with a loved one or simply for self-indulgence - each macaron has been crafted, assembled, and decorated by hand, by the pastry expert team at FAUCHON under the guidance of Executive Chef Sébastien Monceaux. 

With only 57 boxes available, those wishing to taste the 'Tomacaron' will be able to do so by booking from February 5 a 'Tomacaron and Cocktail l'Inattendu' tasting experience at Grand Café FAUCHON, restaurant of the prestigious FAUCHON L'Hôtel Paris. The experience will be available from February 14.

Guests will be able to taste this original 'Tomacaron', accompanied by an exclusive creation, 'I'Inattendu', a signature cocktail, also available in a non-alcoholic version.

Created by FAUCHON L'Hôtel Paris craft mixologist Jean-Baptiste Launay, 'l'Inattendu' is inspired by the unique notes of Heinz Tomato Ketchup, combining the balanced flavors of fresh ginger and lime, smoky star anise, the aromatic power of red tomato juice from France and a hint of Heinz Worcester sauce.

The perfect match to balance the fresh rhubarb of the 'Tomacaron'.

”From the start, we loved this exciting idea of pairing Heinz Tomato Ketchup with FAUCHON macarons. Carefully developing the final recipe for our ‘Tomacaron’ was a challenge in finding the right balance, each ingredient needing to play an important part in this taste symphony.

Matched with unexpected ingredients like rhubarb, red berries and ginger, along with the finishing details of the sesame seeds topping alongside a hand-painted brushstroke, we aimed to showcase FAUCHON's ability to capture the hearts and tastebuds of ketchup enthusiasts and satisfy even the most sophisticated palates”.
