A four-handed log
Together, they drew inspiration from the common points between glass and ice floes, highlighting elements such as transparency, clarity, frosted effect and purity, and skillfully playing with contrasts and colours. A two-pointed blown glass marquee, representing a real manufacturing challenge. The bright pink hues instantly transport us to the dazzling world of lanterns that light up the marquee. Thus creating a joyful and festive atmosphere, reminiscent of the magic of the party and the circus, where enchantment and joy intertwine in a whirlwind of vibrant colours. Each piece requires several stages of work: melting the glass at a temperature of 1100°C, collecting the liquid glass using a blowing rod, forming the preform, shaping and finishing, as well as cooling. A concentration at each stage where skill and agility are essential to quickly manipulate the molten glass before it solidifies.
A tailor-made setting for a very gourmet Yule log: composed of a pink praline and puffed rice crisp, a soft almond and lime biscuit. Combined with a raspberry compote with lime zest, a Timut pepper cream and an intense raspberry mousse. The whole is enhanced by a whipped ganache with Tahitian vanilla and verbena berry wrapped in a thin white chocolate shell.
On the palate, it is an explosion of flavors and textures that will, without a doubt, honor the gourmet delights of the end-of-year celebrations. A true encounter between art, beauty and goodness, which combines the know-how of our artisans with the Chefs of the house, under the sign made in France.
About the “As du Verre” workshop
Guillaume Roux, with 20 years of passion and experience, has followed a path that has nourished his passion. This desire was born while watching the television show "C'est pas sorcier". His studies in CAP glassblowing and his certificate of artistic crafts reinforced his vocation, while his first experience at the Cristallerie Saint-Louis gave him rigor and method. His stays in Canada, New Zealand, England and Australia allowed him to acquire technical and artistic expertise. Thanks to this varied and enriching journey, Guillaume finally realized his dream by opening his own workshop-gallery in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur) in 2022: "As du Verre".
A word from Sébastien Monceaux
A blend of 7 different recipes, to give this log, hosted under a FAUCHON marquee, all the deliciousness and pleasure of sharing. Enough to remind us of the circus and its childish side!
