Château Ausone was classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classe A in the latest classification of Saint-Emilion wines for 2012. It owes its name to Ausone or Decimus Magnus Ausonius, poet, professor and political advisor of the Lower Roman Empire in the 4th century BC. Château Ausone 2006 offers a beautiful intense ruby robe and a great finesse on the nose with red fruit and delicate empyreumatic notes. The palate is pure and elegant with fine and silky tannins and a very nice length.
